AUCHI POLYTECHNIC DRESS CODE HANDBOOK

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Auchi Polytechnic the noble institution where men and women are moulded in character and learning, giving them a meaningful future. This is in-line with a core objective of the national policy on education, which states that, the Nigerian educational system, must include moral and spiritual values on
interpretational relationship.

The Rector and the management of the polytechnic, having observed with pains the spate of indecent dressing on our campus, decided to set up a moral committee on dress code to define the right mode of dressing for both staff and students of the institution.

In pursuance of this, the committee wishes to remind all of you students, that you have come into this institution, not just to be trained to become professionals in your chosen career, but to be refined also in character. In doing this, there is the need to pay much attention, to your moral as well as out-ward appearance.

This out-ward appearance, gives the first striking impressing of who you are, just as it influences peoples response to you.

An indecently dressed person will attract indecent thoughts and desires. On the other hand, a decently dressed person gives an impression of a highly responsible being. As you will not like to be pointed out as a bad example to others, there is need for you to dress well, because “you are addressed the way you are dressed.”
“You Are Addressed The Way You Are Dressed.”
As for us staff of the institution who are supposed to be moulders in character and learning, we are expected to lead example if the crusade is to be successful. Since we can’t give what we do not have, there is need for us to imbibe the right culture, so as to be able to correct the students who have been placed in our care. Doing this will go a long way to correct a lot of immoral conducts in our midst. So let us try our best to impress positively on our students and the society at large. As we dress up daily, let the proper dress code ring in our heads.
